Integrate Google Spreadsheet with Google Maps
The Google Maps integration enables SiteTrax.io users to visualize their asset data using Google My Maps. By following simple steps, users can import their SiteTrax.io Data Spreadsheet into Google My Maps to view and interact with asset locations based on GPS coordinates.
StepsPrerequisites: for Integration:
Prerequisites:
- You have signed up for SiteTrax.io at the Service portal (https://service.sitetrax.io)
, - You have scanned at least one asset with any camera
- At least one asset is inside of a Google Spreadsheet (automatically pushed from SiteTrax.io).
Steps for Integration:
- Open Your Data: Access your SiteTrax.io Google Spreadsheet
- Open Google My Maps: Log into your Google Account to open Google My Maps (link here).
- Create a New Map: Click the "Create a New Map" button in Google My Maps.
- Import Data: Use the "Import" option to select your SiteTrax.io Google Spreadsheet from Google Drive.
- Assign Coordinates: Map the latitude (
gps_lat
) and longitude (gps_lon
) columns from your data to position asset markers. - Title the Markers: Select the "Text" column to title your asset markers.
- View Data: You can now view and interact with your assets on the map, including searching for specific assets.
This integration allows for enhanced asset tracking and visibility by visualizing real-time asset locations on a map. Please note that even though our spreadsheet is updated live with new data entries, that is not the case for Google maps integration. To reflect changes on Google maps, you will have to reimport the data.
