SiteTrax.io Snap
SiteTrax.io Snap (https://snap.sitetrax.io) is a Progressive Web App (PWA) designed to streamline the capture of asset data (intermodal containers, trailers, chassis, trucks, etc.) outside of the warehouse throughout the supply chain. It enables users to quickly record short videos of assets such as containers, trailers, and trucks, embedding each recording with GPS coordinates and timestamps. This functionality enhances real-time visibility and tracking of assets, facilitating efficient data collection and management. Snap is accessible via mobile browsers or by scanning a QR code, making it a versatile tool for improving logistics operations.
SiteTrax.io Snap - Android, iOS, Windows
Welcome to the documentation for SiteTrax.io Snap available for any mobile operating system. This page covers how to use the progressive web app (PWA) for capturing and tracking supply chain assets with SiteTrax.io. This progressive web app only allows you to scan 3 second videos. The intended use case is to scan one asset at a time. If you wish to scan continuously (scan your entire yard for example), please visit SiteTrax.io Capture - Android.

- Apple (iOS 14 or later). Android (12 or later). Windows (10 or later).
- Compatible with modern web browsers (Chrome, Safari, or Firefox).
- Internet connection for uploading videos.
- Device camera (1920x1080 video recording).

- How to Access:
- Open a web browser on your mobile device.
- Go to https://snap.sitetrax.io.
- Enter your PIN or scan your QR code.
- You will be prompted to enter your pin if you haven't accessed the webpage from a provided QR code.
- App Features:
- Quick Capture Mode Only: The PWA supports only Quick Capture mode, which allows you to take a single scan of an asset. For more advanced, continuous scanning, the SiteTrax.io Capture app is recommended.
Capture Modes in Detail
Quick Capture Mode
Quick Capture Mode is available in both the SiteTrax.io Capture mobile app and the SiteTrax.io Snap PWA. This mode is designed for users who need to capture a single scan of an asset quickly and efficiently. It is perfect for Proof of Pickup (POP) and Proof of Delivery (POD) scenarios, where a single asset is being tracked.
- How it works:
- Open the app or PWA and navigate to Quick Capture mode.
- Use your device’s camera to capture a short video (3 seconds) of the asset.
- The captured video is automatically uploaded to the SiteTrax.io backend for processing.
- The GPS coordinates and other metadata (such as the asset ID) are embedded in the video for tracking purposes.
- Key Use Cases:
- Scanning individual containers, trailers, or trucks.
- Capturing a single point of proof, such as at delivery or pickup.
Video Processing
Once the video is captured using either Quick Capture or Manual Video mode, it is automatically uploaded to the SiteTrax.io backend for processing. SiteTrax.io analyzes the video to extract relevant data, such as:
- Asset Identification: The unique ID of the asset is captured and processed.
- GPS Coordinates: The location of the asset is embedded in the video, ensuring precise tracking.
- Timestamp: The time of capture is logged, providing a reliable record for Proof of Pickup (POP) or Proof of Delivery (POD).
Processed data is then made available through the SiteTrax.io platform, which can push the results to other systems via REST API integration.
Common Use Cases
- Proof of Delivery (POD): Capture video proof of delivered goods by scanning the asset upon delivery. SiteTrax.io ensures that the time, location, and asset ID are recorded.
- Yard Inventory Management: Use Manual Video Mode to scan multiple assets within a yard, helping with accurate inventory counts.
- Proof of Pickup (POP): Record a short video of an asset upon pickup for accountability and tracking.
